Kentucky Mental Health Association
Mental Health America of Kentucky (MHAKY) is the oldest mental health advocacy organization in the Commonwealth dedicated to advocacy, education, information and referral services, and support of research aimed at preventing and curing mental illnesses. Our collective voice consistently demands the availability of sufficient resources to provide a complete range of mental health services and mental health research for every Kentuckian.
The MHAKY is a private 501(c)3 association with a statewide membership and a volunteer board of directors reflecting the various cultures of Kentucky. We believe that it is the responsibility of every person and social institution in the community to prevent mental, social, and emotional problems. The MHAKY has long been a monitor of Kentucky's mental health delivery and judicial systems.
We provide educational opportunities throughout Kentucky as an essential ingredient for the development and realization of every citizen's full potential. Emphasis is placed on the fact that people with mental illnesses can and do recover to live healthy productive lives.
